Deluxe Klondike Scoring: Deluxe Klondike allows you to choose between three different scoring methods. Go to the SCORING menu to select the method you prefer. A separate high score list is maintained for each scoring method. Standard Scoring: This is the simplest scoring option. With this method you get one point for every card you move to the foundation. The highest possible score is 52. There are no penalties when using this scoring method. Casino Scoring: At the beginning of each game you pay the house $52. This means you begin with a score of -$52. You then win $5 for every card you move to the foundation. The highest possible score is $208. The are no penalties with this scoring method. Expert Scoring: This is the most challenging scoring method. If the other two methods are a bit too easy for you, then give this one a try. When using expert scoring you gain points by: 1) +5 Points for moving a card from the stock to the tableau. 2) +5 Points for turning up a card in the tableau. 3) +15 Points for moving a card to one of the foundation piles. When using expert scoring you lose points by: 1) -25 Points every time you use the UNDO function. 2) -3 Points for every 10 seconds that elapse without making a legal move. The expert scoring method also has a bonus should you win the game. BONUS = (500-SECS) * 10 “SECS” is the total number of seconds that elapsed during the game. The theoretical maximum score when using the expert scoring method is 6005. This is assuming that you make no mistakes, don’t undo any moves, and the total game takes zero seconds to complete. Of course, this is impossible. In reality, a good score would be in the range of 4000-5000. ******************************************************* ©1996 Glenn Seemann.
